Take a Break and Then Get Back to Work

August CalendarBooks take time to write.
They require deep thinking and creative energy.
It’s okay to take a week off.
Wanna know why?
You’re writing the book in your head; making connections of one idea to another; creating your book’s first line–the single most important sentence in your entire manuscript–while you’re not actually writing.
Remember, you’re taking that week off.
But listen–don’t linger beyond that bit of time off.
Don’t extend it to a month because it feels so good to not be writing.
Nope.
Sit your behind back in your favorite writing chair and pick up where you left off.
My client took a pause this week and tomorrow, she’s diving back into her chapter writing.
During her week off, ideas came to her. She figured out the answer to some important questions regarding chapter content.
And I have supported her in all of this, checking in to say “need any help?” and receiving back, “I’m good. See you next Wednesday.”
If she hadn’t hired me, her next Wednesday might have looked like mid-October.
But I giver her room AND accountability and she is doing a wonderful job.
Ready to start writing? It could be as simple as short stories for social media, or articles to drop on Medium dot com.
Your choice, but if all this writing sounds romantic and juicy, why are you over there drooling and not over here writing?
Schedule a discovery call so we can help you make a plan for writing. You will not regret this decision.
